People want to do business with people.
Outbound is drowning in AI generated noise: endless automated emails, generic sequences, and chatbots in place of real conversations. The data is clear about what still breaks through: real human conversations and physical mail, sharpened by technology rather than replaced by it. It is the most effective way to win B2B clients in 2026 and beyond, and it is how we run Road to Rev. Here is what we believe, and the evidence behind it.
People want to do business with people, and they deserve to.
Behind every CPG brand is a person, not a portal. They are worn down by software that treats them like a record in a database, and they can tell instantly when a real human understands their world. By 2030, Gartner expects three out of four B2B buyers to want sales built around human interaction rather than AI. McKinsey already finds two out of three reaching for a person at every stage of the decision. People want to do business with people. They always have, and that is the foundation of how we run outbound.
AI broke digital outreach. We are not going to fix it with more AI.
When anyone can generate ten thousand personalized emails for free, the inbox stops working. Nearly nine in ten marketers expect AI to run most of their email by the end of 2026, so the same generated messages pile up and blend into noise. More automation does not fix this. The channels that still break through are the ones AI cannot replicate: a real letter in someone's hands, and a real voice on the phone. The Association of National Advertisers still measures direct mail response from known contacts at 5 to 9 percent, while cold email lands under half a percent.
AI works for our people. Our people do not work for AI.
We are not anti-technology. We use AI every day for research, targeting, and timing, and it is exactly why our reps reach the right person at the right moment instead of guessing. But a human makes the call and signs the letter. The proof is in the numbers: a 2026 analysis of 100,000 cold emails found that human-written messages still get 27 percent more replies than AI-written ones. Technology sharpens the people doing the work rather than replacing them.
One touch is a whisper. A coordinated sequence is a conversation.
No decision-maker says yes to one email on one channel anymore. McKinsey's 2026 Global B2B Pulse finds buyers now move across an average of 10.2 channels to make a single decision, twice as many as in 2016, and 42 percent use more than eleven. RAIN Group puts it at roughly eight touches to earn a first meeting, and multichannel sequences out-reply single-channel ones by two to three times. Multichannel is no longer a nice to have. We build for it from day one, with phone, mail, email, and LinkedIn working together instead of in isolation.
Human outreach is the smarter investment, and the gap keeps widening.
Two trends are moving in opposite directions. AI keeps flooding every digital channel while the cost of a paid click keeps climbing, up 12 percent year over year heading into 2026, with B2B and SaaS seeing the steepest jumps. Google's AI Overviews are cutting organic clicks by 8 to 12 percent, pushing even more competition into paid. As the noise rises and the auction heats up, the return on a genuine human conversation keeps pulling ahead of the return on one more impression. We are not chasing the cheapest click. We are building the relationships that close, and that math only improves from here.
Your name is on every touch, so we treat it like our own.
When we run outbound for you, your name is on every call and every envelope. So we treat it the way we would treat our own: researched, relevant, and unmistakably human. It protects you, too: that same 2026 analysis of 100,000 cold emails found AI-written messages get flagged as spam nearly three times as often as human-written ones, quietly burning the sender reputation you depend on. Buyers are not tired of being contacted. They are tired of being spammed. When a CPG buyer hears from you, it should feel like a partner reaching out, not a bot farm.
The future of breaking through is not more noise. It is more human.
Real conversations with real CPG decision-makers, a pipeline built on relationships, not impressions, and outreach you are proud to put your name on. That is the entire reason Road to Rev exists.
